The vision
Since 2001 Rolly and Robyn Walter have worked at the Malaga Media Center, where Rolly is the director of Spanish Ministries. Their desire is to see Spaniards come to faith in Christ, and to help churches grow in maturity. To accomplish this task they are producing video tools for evangelism and discipleship.
The need
Spain is at the same time both very religious and very secular. Ritual and tradition are part of everyday life, but many people are also practical atheists. Only 1 of every thousand Spaniards profess a personal faith in Jesus. There are over 1,2oo towns with absolutely no evangelical presence. Spain needs Jesus.
The evangelical church in Spain is small and often fractured. Young believers need to be taught basics of the new life in Christ.
Meeting the need
Spaniards are very family oriented, and it is difficult to break into their circle of friends. Often the only way enter their homes with the message of forgiveness in Jesus is through media. At the Malaga Media Center we are producing culturally relevant TV programs and DVDs that draw people in and share the Gospel.
What can you do?
As part of Avant Ministries, Rolly and Robyn look to like-minded friends and churches to help make it possible for them to accomplish their task in Spain. Please prayerfully consider what your part could be in reaching Spain with the Gospel through media.
